How to Download your Credit Report from CheckMyFile.com
CheckMyFile.com offer a free trial and are one of the most comprehensive report providers that we have come across.
Check My File provide your credit report data from CallCredit (Noddle), Equifax and Experian all-in-one.
This article explains how to download your Credit Report from CheckMyFile.com so that you can send your report by email or upload your credit report to one of our mortgage advisors for review.
Here is the step-by-step guide on how to download your Credit Report from CheckMyFile.com:
Step 1
Log in or Register for an account. You will need to provide your card details when obtaining your credit report. All credit report agencies ask for this because this is the only way that they are able to connect with your credit file. You will also be asked a few security questions about some of the credit providers that you have connections with.
Step 2
Once logged in you will be presented with a summary page of your credit report. Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see a section named ‘Printable Version’. Click on the purple button that says ‘DOWNLOAD PRINTABLE REPORT’. Please note: This button may not appear on a mobile device. If you have only recently registered, you may need to log back out and return later for this option to appear.*
Step 3
You will be prompted to enter your password. Your password will be your date of birth in the following format: DDMMYY. Then click submit.
Step 4
Your full credit report will now appear within the browser window.
In most internet browsers you will be able to see a download button next to the print icon. In this example, we are using Google Chrome on a desktop computer. Select the arrow pointing downwards in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This will download your full credit report to your downloads folder.
Step 5
That’s it! You can now email or upload the PDF version of your credit report to us for review.
You will know that you have obtained the full copy of your report if the document starts with the words ‘MULTIPLE AGENCY CREDIT REPORT DOWNLOADABLE/PRINTABLE VERSION’.
IMPORTANT:
*The download experience will differ based on the type of computer and browser that you are using. For this example, we used a Mac computer using Google Chrome. The options and buttons may differ when using a Windows computer or mobile device.
We recommend that you always use a desktop computer to download your credit report and experiment with different browsers if your default browser is not working or if it does not have a download button. You may not be able to download your full credit report on some mobile devices. If you have only recently signed up you may need to wait a short period before you can download your report. Try logging out and back in again.
As mortgage advisors, we need to see the full version of your credit report. Your full report reveals the full payment history of your credit accounts going back several years. Your credit score, screenshots and summary pages are not acceptable as we cannot use the basic snapshot information to carry out our research.
We regularly update this guide to ensure that the information is accurate.
